A SMALL INTEGRATION. A WHOLE CHARACTER SET.

From your app to a usable font.

01

Create your key

Name a key for your project. Keep it on your server, and revoke it whenever you need to.

02

Generate your font

Upload your lettering or describe a style. Choose your characters and quality, then follow the job's progress.

03

Download and build

Get a colour TTF or a full ZIP with WOFF2, an atlas and individual letter images. Use them in your own workflow.

TEXT TO FONT. IMAGE TO FONT.

The same MakeAFont.
Inside your tools.

Build font generation into game development scripts, design workflows and creative tools. Use your own artwork as a style reference, or describe the lettering you want.

Select a character preset or request your own set. Generation runs asynchronously, so your application can keep working while the font is being made.

CLEAR TOKEN PRICING

Good400 tokens / font
High detail1,200 tokens / font

Tokens are reserved when a job starts and charged only when a font is delivered. A failed or cancelled generation releases the reservation.

Your dashboard separates available tokens, reservations and actual spending. Checking progress and downloading your font cost no tokens.

A few things to know.

Can I use my current MakeAFont account?

Yes. Website and API generations share the same token balance. Sign in, create a key and use the tokens already in your account.

What does the font API return?

A job ID first, followed by a font ID when generation succeeds. Download a colour TTF directly or a ZIP containing the font files, bitmap atlas and individual glyph exports. Colour font support varies by application. See our licence and usage guidance.

Can I put an API key in a website or a game?

Keep the key in your own backend. A key embedded in browser code or a distributed game can be copied and used to spend your tokens. Your backend should authenticate your users and limit their requests.

What happens if my connection drops?

Send the same request again with the same Idempotency-Key. MakeAFont returns the original job instead of generating and charging for another font.
